Gathering for Thanksgiving

A turkey roasting in the oven… Pumpkin pie… Cranberries…

Cinnamon & spice… Mulled cider… Freshly baked rolls…

CIGARETTE SMOKE

One of these things doesn’t belong here…

If you live or visit someone who lives in an apartment building or condominium, your Thanksgiving celebration may be contaminated by the smell of secondhand tobacco smoke.

Secondhand smoke travels through the air, creeps under doors, comes through cracks in walls, via electrical lines, ventilation systems, and plumbing.

There are more than 7000 chemicals in tobacco smoke including hundreds of chemicals that are toxic and about 70 that can cause cancer!

Smoke from one cigarette can stay in a room for hours. Ventilation, air conditioning, or air purifiers do not protect you or your children from secondhand smoke. In fact, these systems can distribute secondhand smoke throughout a building.

If you live in multi-unit housing that does not have a comprehensive tobacco-free policy, we can help!
