Tobacco-Free Public Spaces

STTAC seeks to support and promote tobacco-free environments anywhere Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben County residents live, work and play. By working with municipalities, local business owners and organizations, our goal is to:

Reduce the impact of tobacco by establishing policies that prevent and reduce tobacco use.
&
Limit exposure to secondhand smoke.

Tobacco-free public spaces policies provide clean, safe, and healthy environments for the communities within Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties. These policies help reduce the medical, environmental and maintenance costs incurred from secondhand smoke and cigarette butt litter and encourage healthier lifestyles. STTAC helps facilitate change as well as provide support to the municipalities and organizations introducing a smoke-free public spaces policy.
