Our Coalition

For over 20 years, STTAC has maintained a well-established, tri-county coalition. The coalition meets every two months, for a total of six times during a grant year, with the location of the meeting rotating between three counties. Coalition meetings are two hours in length and allow for a focused look at workplan deliverables, event planning, networking, training, and direct education and mobilization of allies. These partnerships and collaboration opportunities have created a strong network of allies focused on tobacco control. Examples of coalition members include voluntary health organizations, colleges, hospitals, youth-focused organizations, mental health providers, local health departments, and organizations that represent diverse communities. Communication carries on throughout each month through periodic email updates, in-person communications, and the monthly STTAC newsletter. The coalition also collaborates with other Bureau of Tobacco Control (BTC) funded partners in the western and central regions of New York State (NYS).

If you would like to learn more about the coalition, please contact Laura Sklba via email lsklba@chemungcountyny.gov or by calling (607) 737-2858.
